IS THERE ANY STEEL CONTENT? No. We make sure 99.9% of the wire is removed prior to your shipment. We run our material through a large magnet that virtually insures no steel content.

IS IT MAINTENANCE FREE? Almost. The only maintenance required is an occasional raking. Any leaves or other debris not removed by raking will decompose over time.

WILL THE MATERIAL DECOMPOSE? No. Because tires are made of vulcanized rubber, the rubber is indestructible.

WILL THE MATERIAL WASH AWAY? No. They will not blow or wash away. The material is heavy enough to remain in place when it's windy, raining or snowing.

WHY IS THE COST SO HIGH? Compared to other playground safety surfaces, rubberized material costs the same as wood chips and mulch. It costs more initially, but it only needs to be installed once.

WILL THE MATERIAL HURT CHILDREN IF SWALLOWED? No. Rubber chips are non-toxic and non-abrasive. If the chips are accidentally swallowed, reports show that the chips will simply pass through the digestive tracts of both children and animals.

WILL THE MATERIAL DAMAGE CHILDREN'S CLOTHING? No. It will not cause any stains on children's clothing.

WILL IT ATTRACT ANIMALS OR INSECTS? No. The tire material has no appeal to animals or insects.
